Could CAR T-Cell Therapy Be the Future of Lung Cancer Treatment?
CAR T-cell therapy has transformed treatment for some blood cancers, but could this innovative approach also work for lung cancer? Researchers are exploring how specially engineered immune cells might target cancer cells that survive targeted therapies, potentially offering a new strategy for overcoming treatment resistance.

Join us Sunday, October 18, at 7:00 p.m. ET as ALKtALK welcomes Dr. Kyle Concannon, thoracic oncologist and physician-scientist at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. We’re excited to bring together patients, care partners, and advocates from across the ALK-positive, EGFR, HER2, and other oncogene-driven cancer communities for this special collaborative discussion.

Dr. Concannon will introduce CAR T-cell therapy and discuss the development of active-conformation EGFR-specific (ACES) CAR T cells, a new approach being studied for oncogene-driven lung cancers, including ALK-positive and EGFR cancers.

Topics will include:
● What CAR T cells are, how they work, and why treating solid tumors like lung cancer presents unique opportunities.
● Why targeting EGFR applies to ALK-positive and other oncogene driven cancers
● What ACES CAR T cells are, why oncogene-driven lung cancers may be particularly well suited for this approach, and how CAR T cells could potentially be combined with targeted therapies.
● Where ACES CAR T development stands today and what the path toward a first clinical trial could look like.

A live Q&A will follow, giving patients and care partners the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the future of cellular therapies in lung cancer.
