ALK Summit 2022 in Denver (and Virtual) was largest summit yet!!

The ALK Positive annual summit was once again a huge success! T his year the event was held both in Denver, Colorado and virtually (online). We had 250 individual registrations in-person and 850 virtual attendees.
Our ALK Summit in Denver was a great opportunity to meet and socialize with others on Friday, July 29th for a check-in and swag bag pick up, along with the cocktail reception. This was a great start to the summit where everyone mingled to meet other ALK survivors and caregivers. Saturday, July 30th started with a nice breakfast for everyone, and a great agenda balancing research information and support for the attendees.
Dr. Ross Camidge was our keynote speaker giving a wonderful run-down of ALK , treatment options and the hope that research brings. Not only does the summit empower patients but also doctors, researchers, and industry leaders. By coming together at the summit, over 15 ALK Key Opinion Leaders were able to highlight what is going on in ALK-positive research, what the future looks like for the disease, and the latest in treatment and bedside care. Saturday evening was an optional social dinner that many enjoyed time together with survivors, caregivers, ALK Key Opinion Leaders (Dr. Ben Creelan, Dr. Vincent Lam, Dr. David Carbone) and Industry leaders. Dr’s Camidge, Lam, Creelan, and Shenk discussed current treatments, outside of the box thinking and what they feel is in our future.
A patient panel talking about their journeys and advice while thriving with Stage IV ALK lung cancer was also inspiring to many and relatable. We kicked off Sunday with patient videos and a southwestern breakfast, and Dr. David Carbone was our keynote speaker. Expert Panels with ALK Key Opinion Leaders and professionals were informative and gave everyone hope. We ended the summit with breakout groups that included, ASK the experts, Caregivers support, ALK Parenting,and How to talk to your healthcare Team. The event was attended by 9 industry partners. There were no known government officials who registered for the event. All videos can be viewed free of charge on our ALK Positive Youtube channel.
